**The opportunity**:
The Research Coordinator will be primarily responsible for assisting Dr. Em Pijl with coordinating various research activities. The Research Coordinator will also be responsible for carrying out various aspects of the research projects focusing on harm reduction services for people engaging in problematic substance use.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- Bachelor's degree or completion of a Community College course in a related discipline required, preferably in Nursing or social sciences.
- Three years of directly related experience is required.
- Experience with survey data collection, individual open-ended interviews, writing field notes, participant observation, focus group interviews, and photovoice.
- Must have experience with drafting technical reports, brief non-technical reports for communities, academic publications and presentations, and other written documents as requested.
- Experience in conducting quantitative or qualitative research in social services or health care environments.
- Must have experience with literature searches and retrieval, as well as grant writing.
- Experience with knowledge translation science is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must have experience using statistical and other computer software related to word processing and data management (e.g., Microsoft Office, SPSS, Reference Management System - Zotero).
- Must be familiar with confidentiality and security issues related to research essential.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others required.
- Good organizational skills required.
- Must be able to work within time and budget constraints.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential, with academic and non-academic individuals required.
- Ability and willingness to learn new processes and techniques required.
- Access to vehicle and willingness to travel, depending on public health guidelines.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required
