**Salary**: H006 $67,509 - $84,000 annually (based on experience and competencies)
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The position ensures a stable information technology environment by performing the following duties:
- Elicit and document business requirements, for purposes of scoping, prioritizing and budget
- Developing business and systems documentation throughout the project life cycle
- Coordination and facilitation of meetings, working groups, and organizational committees, and liaising with various project teams
- Communication of technical information to a non-technical audience and business information to a technical audience
- Leading simple to moderately complex projects of medium to large scope involving various internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with monitoring of project plans, schedules, status reports and budgets as required
- Provide education and training to end-users and stakeholders as required
- Understand the data produced by systems and the reporting needs of stakeholders
- Investigate business intelligence tools to support information needs of users
- Testing and configuring new software releases, upgrades, product changes, service packs and critical fixes to ensure quality prior to distribution
- Troubleshooting and support of customers in day to day issues, within the documented timeframe
- Technical Documentation and end-user training delivery; etc.
The Business Systems Analyst works under general supervision to identify options for potential solutions to participating in and testing viable solutions that meet customer requirements, using technology standards.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- At minimum, completion of a 3 year community college program in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Business Administration, recognized equivalent or related field required
- 1 - 2 years industry experience; clinical background and/or experience in the health care environment an asset
- Project Management/Business Analysis
- Strong stakeholder consultations experience interacting with stakeholders at various levels
- Strong project and time management skills
Strong systems development methodology, project management, system architecture, and excellent analytical / problem solving skills with the ability to systematically analyze situations/issues, identify options, draw logical conclusions and determine/recommend practical courses of action
- Strong documentation skills
- Knowledge of project management (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization)
- Previous software testing and data modeling experience, and working knowledge of programming and database design
- Strong knowledge of HL7 interfacing and experience with testing variety of HL7 interfaces
- Familiarity with local area networks and interfacing/integration with other computers
- Familiarity with programming techniques and languages
- Understands Internet and client/server architectures
- Very good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player who can work independently
- Able to work with mínimal supervision on simple to moderately complex tasks
- Able to work with multidisciplinary teams in a positive and productive manner
- Able to effectively deal with high priority unscheduled tasks and problems
- Excellent analytical, financial and reporting skills an asset
