We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our amazing ‘E’ of HSSE Team

As an Advisor, Environment you will be responsible for the performance of environmental support functions for the operations units. Reporting to the Director of Environment, in this role you will ensure operations receives guidance and support with respect to all environmental matters to promote compliance.

You will contribute to our team by
- Supporting management of data and compliance reporting including CEMS, GHG, Water and Waste to support operations or corporate reporting, as necessary.
- Supporting development and maintenance of site-specific environmental documentation and procedures.
- Supporting management of environmental key performance metrics to achieve ongoing continual improvement.
- Supporting review of new regulations to assess potential impacts to operations and overall business.
- Supporting ongoing maintenance of the Environmental Management System and associated procedures.
- Exercising sound judgment in the enforcement of statutes, regulations, codes, and standards Liaising with local government, public, industry and Aboriginal authorities when required.
- Supporting preparations of environmental approval amendments or renewals as the need arises.
- Following-up on environmental incidents to ensure proper notification to regulatory authorities, root-cause analysis, and adequate incident management resolution.
- Following-up on environmental audit issues to assist with action plan and to ensure adequate resolution.
- Overseeing environmental consultants as the need arises to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks, scheduling, and budget for the consultant work.
- Demonstrating a strong working rapport/relationship with peers and external contacts.

What you will bring to the role

Education
- University degree in Engineering or Natural/General Sciences or Associates or Technical degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent.

Experience
- 3 to 5 years direct related experience.
- Solid foundation in the sciences.
- Experience in an industrial plant environment.
- Understanding of environmental policy, environmental aspects, and environmental management systems including reference to ISO 14001.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, laws, and regulations, and the ability to gather updates and changes.
- Writing technical reports including details with respect to environmental laws and regulations.
- Good understanding of power operations or industrial operating approval and associated environmental risk.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions:

- Office, occasional field visits.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible mínimal travel.

As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required.
