**Nature du travail**

Le rôle principal et habituel de la personne salariée de cette classe d'emplois consiste à être responsable de l’exécution et de la surveillance des travaux d’entretien ménager, d’entretien préventif et d’entretien physique effectués exclusivement le soir ou la nuit, dans un établissement d’enseignement ou un bâtiment selon les directives et en l’absence de la ou du concierge, classe II, ou contremaître ou de la direction d’établissement, et cette responsabilité est assumée sur une superficie totale de moins de 9 275 m2.

Elle exerce en plus les attributions caractéristiques de la classe d‘emplois d’ouvrière ou d’ouvrier d’entretien, classe II.

**Attributions caractéristiques**

La personne salariée de cette classe d’emplois doit assurer la propreté des lieux en accomplissant des tâches d’ouvrière ou d’ouvrier d’entretien, classe II, selon la planification établie. De plus, elle a la responsabilité de surveiller les travaux d’entretien ménager exécutés par des ouvrières ou ouvriers non spécialisés; elle s‘assure que les appareils et les équipements d’entretien sont maintenus en bon état.

Elle doit assurer le bon état du bâtiment et de ses équipements. Elle inspecte et vérifie les systèmes d’éclairage, de chauffage et de ventilation; elle veille au fonctionnement d’un type d’appareil de chauffage qui ne requiert pas la présence de mécanicienne ou de mécanicien de machines fixes. Elle fait ou s’assure de l’entretien préventif requis; elle fait les réparations mineures ou temporaires; elle signale les bris et voit à ce que les travaux de réparations soient réalisés; elle effectue le suivi des travaux exécutés par des ouvrières ou ouvriers spécialisés ou non spécialisés. Elle répare les portes, les fenêtres et le mobilier; elle peut procéder à l’assemblage et à l’installation de matériel.

Elle prend tous les moyens nécessaires en vue d’assurer une sécurité adéquate contre le vol ou l’incendie; dans certains cas spécifiques et selon les besoins, elle contrôle les entrées et les sorties des visiteurs, des élèves et du personnel. Selon la demande, elle voit à la préparation des locaux et des salles.

Conformément à la procédure établie, elle soumet les besoins en matériel, produits et équipements requis pour l’exécution des travaux d’entretien; elle s’assure du respect des normes d’utilisation, d’entreposage et d’élimination sécuritaire des produits.

Elle formule des suggestions et des recommandations concernant les produits, le matériel, l’équipement ainsi que les méthodes de travail.

Elle peut être appelée à superviser des travaux exécutés par d’autres personnes salariées non spécialisées.

Elle peut être appelée à utiliser un ordinateur et les divers logiciels requis pour l’exécution de son travail.

Au besoin, elle accomplit toute autre tâche connexe.

**Nature of the work**

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in being responsible for executing and supervising of all the preventive and physical maintenance performed exclusively in the evening or at night in an educational institution or building as directed and in the absence of the caretaker class II, the foreman or the School Principal, and this responsibility is assumed on an area of less than 9275 m2.

The employee also has, in addition, the characteristic functions of the class of employment of maintenance workman, Class II.

**Characteristic functions**

The employee in this class of employment must ensure the cleanliness of the premises by completing tasks of maintenance workman, Class II, as scheduled. In addition, she or he is responsible for the supervision of maintenance work performed by workers and unskilled workers; she or he ensures that the devices and maintenance equipment are maintained in good condition.

She or he must ensure the good condition of the building and its equipment. She or he inspects and checks the lighting, heating and ventilation systems; she or he ensures the functioning of a type of furnace that does not require the presence of a stationary engineer. She or he does or ensures the required preventive maintenance, its minor or temporary repairs; she or he points out the failures and ensures that the repairs are made, keeps track of the work performed by skilled or unskilled workman.
