**Responsibilities**:
Works directly with the Incumbent, to engage and educate children and youth in the Christian faith within the context of the beliefs, values and practices of the Anglican Church of Canada.

Coordinates, organizes, and participates in the Parish’s child and youth activities.

Recruits and supports volunteer Church School teachers/youth leaders.

Works with teachers to develop schedules and teaches classes, as needed.

Works with and mentors new teachers, assisting in the preparation of lesson plans and activities as required.

Selects curriculum in consultation with Incumbent, Education Coordinator and teachers, and maintains supply cupboards.

Plans occasional special activities in consultation with the Incumbent and Education Coordinator. This could involve liaising with neighbouring parishes.

Supports and encourages youth activities, including connecting youth with Diocesan programs such as the Youth Internship Program.

Selects child and youth-appropriate content/activities for intergenerational services / informal Eucharists outside of regular Sunday worship in consultation with the Incumbent.

Ensures all educational volunteers have successfully completed the ‘screening in faith’ process.

Participates in weekly staff meetings with the Incumbent.

Submits a monthly written report to the Parish Education Coordinator for Parish Council.

Attends Diocesan workshops and events focused on children’s/youth ministry.

Communicates with parents/guardians about current/future events.

Communicates with the Music Director about current and future choir programs.

All Diocese of Ottawa and Province of Ontario laws, policies, and practices must be known and adhered to including Human Rights, Privacy Legislation and Safe Church Policies.

A full COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for the position and full COVID-19 protocols must be adhered to.

**Time commitment**: 10 hours/week (including 3 hours on Sunday mornings; 5 hours curriculum preparation and/or participation in weekday/Saturday activities, and 2 hours staff meetings)

**Qualifications**: Good organizational and communication skills; creativity; accountability; supportive and encouraging; knowledge of basic teaching skills; tactful.

Police Record Check Level 3 (vulnerable sector check) required.

**Compensation**:$23 per hour.

Employment can commence January 25, 2023.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
