**We are looking for a Research Scientist to join our R&D Team **for a **full-time permanent position.** Under the direction of the Director of R&D, the Research Scientist will be responsible for efficiently and competently completing all R&D work according to approved design plans and updating R&D documentation as required.

The role responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Complete all research and development work including new product development and validation using ELISAs, coagulation assays, protein-specific assays, or other technologies, as required to meet the needs of new design projects.
- Manufacturing products and sub-assemblies associated with Research and Development projects including, but not limited to:

- Serum processing
- IgG purification from serum, including adsorptions and associated in-process quality control techniques including immunoelectrophoresis, double immune-diffusion and titrations.
- Affinity purification of whole IgG
- Antibody conjugations including HRP, FITC and biotin.
- Plasma manufacturing and associated in-process testing including custom plasmas, deficient plasmas, lyophilized plasmas.
- Protein purification procedures
- ELISA kit components including buffers, pre-coated plates, pre-diluted detecting antibodies and kit plasmas.
- Maintains material resources (basic laboratory chemicals, in-house reagents such as buffers, etc.).
- Preparation and documentation of Research and Development protocols/practices, forms, and records in accordance with applicable Design Control requirements.
- Preparation of documentation required for transfer of design projects to Manufacturing and Quality Control from Research and Development. Following transfer, serve as a resource to Manufacturing and Quality Control on manufacturing of product.
- Participate in Design Review meetings as required to present results of experiments.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

- Bachelor of Science in a relevant science (biology, biochemistry, bio pharmacology, immunology) or Medical Laboratory Technologist or Biotechnologist diploma
- Experience or knowledge of quality system design controls
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a research or industrial laboratory performing coagulation assays, ELISAs or other applicable technologies
- Background in hemostasis and/or immunology an asset

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
