Based in Ancaster, ON, Affinity Biologicals is a privately held manufacturer of reagents and kits used in hemostasis and thrombosis research and diagnostics. We are seeking a **Production Scientist **to join our Operations team. The Production Scientist is responsible for efficiently and competently manufacturing products in accordance with the production schedule and established target dates. The Production Scientist is required to promptly respond to priority terms and/or changes in the production schedule and bring forward any production-related issues or concerns to the Lead Production Scientist or Production Manager.

The role of a **Production Scientist is**:

- Manufacture products and sub-assemblies, in response to retail and stock requirements, and in accordance with established company manufacturing protocols/practices in the “Plasma and/or Kits, Antibodies & lyophilization” production areas, as required
- Maintains material resources including basic laboratory chemicals and in-house buffers or reagents. Housekeeping duties as required including cleaning of lab dishes and bench areas.
- Assist in QC related functions, as required, for processes where appropriate training and competency has been demonstrated.
- Performs basic routine maintenance on production related equipment as per documented procedures.
- Preparation and documentation of Manufacturing protocols/practices, forms, and records to include preparation of new documents and initiating change(s) to current documents for purposes of clarification or in response to process or design changes.
- Coordinate testing of final product to include updating production schedule, coordinating testing with Quality control department and/or external labs and completing required testing documentation

To be successful in this position, you will need to have:

- Bachelor of Science in a relevant science (biology, biochemistry, bio pharmacology, immunology) or Medical Laboratory Technologist or Biotechnologist diploma
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a lab setting
- General laboratory experience and familiarity with common equipment such as pipettes, balances, pH meters, etc.
- Experience working in an ISO quality system environment an asset
- Background in hemostasis and/or immunology an asset

Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
