About You / What We Are Looking For
The City of Coquitlam is currently hiring a Regular Full Time Aquatic Program Supervisor to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals who are eager to take on a key role in planning, organizing, and overseeing engaging aquatic programs and activities. This position will be located at the City Centre Aquatic Complex.
The Aquatic Program Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing aquatic instruction and recreational programs at both our indoor aquatic center and outdoor pools. In this leadership position, you will assign, supervise, and train a diverse team of staff and volunteers in lifeguarding and class instruction, general maintenance, and clerical tasks. Additionally, you will foster staff development through in-service training and use your independent judgment to allocate duties effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
Current certifications required for these positions include:
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
- National Lifeguard Award - Pool Option
- Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR Level C
- One of the following Certificates:
- A) Lifesaving Instructor; or
- B) National Lifeguard Instructor; or
- C) Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Trainer
A Driver’s License for the Province of BC (with satisfactory driving record) is also required.
What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $33.23 - $39.12 per hour. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off/flex day program. This position is based in Coquitlam.
