The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

**About the Opportunity**:
The Violence Prevention, Intervention, and Response Program focuses on trauma informed, person centred evidence informed care required at various points of entry to health services by individuals and families with experiences of interpersonal violence. This program serves individuals aged 13 years and over who have experienced violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, or other forms of violence and at a high level of risk for reoccurrence and/or lethality. This provincial program advances professional and interprofessional practice for regulated and unregulated care providers in health service settings across NSH and IWK and other sectors of the province.

Reporting to the Director of the Violence Prevention, Intervention & Response Program, Interprofessional Practice & Learning (IPP&L), the Professional Practice Coordinator (PPC) works collaboratively with members of discipline specific and interprofessional teams to create an environment for optimal person centered care. PPC’s demonstrate expertise in their discipline; as well as demonstrating competency as a consultant, researcher, facilitator, change agent and leader. They foster a culture of learning to build capacity and support safe practice, advances professional practice through the development and implementation of transition to practice programs and ongoing practice at the point of care and professional development that integrates a learner centered approach. This position is responsible for developing, planning, executing and evaluating learning experiences for staff within the program and across NSH, specifically in relation to domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, gender-based violence, and other areas of family violence.

Please note this position is flexible within the province and requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia. Access to reliable transportation is required.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Master of Social Work required
- Licensure and membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers required
- Three (3) years clinical experience as a Social Worker required
- Two (2) years clinical experience with related leadership skills working in the area of domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and gender-based violence required
- BLS for Health Care Providers certification required
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skill in adult learning theories, principles, and best practices in education (i.e., curriculum development, program design, writing objectives, evaluation, and different learning styles) required
- Previous competency-based teaching experience to health care clinicians required
- Certificate course in Adult Education (or equivalency) preferred
- Leadership development course or equivalent is an asset
