Powder Coating Supervisor

OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

We have a new opportunity for a Powder Coating Supervisor, we are seeking a dependable and motivated Supervisor to join our Paint Line team, at our manufacturing facility located in Burnaby B.C. The role will involve overseeing the planning, development and output of the powder coating and kitting teams and ensuring the efficient movement and coating of product all while maintaining and checking for quality.

**Role Description**:

- Training of new employees on all job responsibilities in the department.
- Manage the daily workflow through the department to meet the demands of production.
- Monitor line efficiency of loading and unloading of parts on and off the powder coating line.
- Prepping parts in order of the production schedule on the powder line prior to coating.
- Monitor the packaging and counts of parts or assembly for shipping to shipment or being moved to inventory.
- Monitor of the accuracy of production process and inventory report through IBC scanning
- Report an accurate Production Detail Report daily.
- Responsible to set up oven temperature, line speed and maintain in optimum quality of our pre-treatment system, Film thickness and Part Curing
- Powder utilization for mileage, Powder Inventory control and ordering system.
- Minimize downtime for Colour change and powder usage per colour.
- Monitoring powder releases and powder required for work in process and colour for remaining scope of project.
- Monitor all equipment’s on the department and make sure in good working condition.
- Create and implement Paint line Safety Procedure
- Develop an 5S program and Daily House keeping.
- Process Improvements Initiatives, Utilize the House of Lean Production Tools
- Manpower utilization FTE and TEMP employees
- Minimize downtime utilizing staggered breaktimes.
- Production forecasting and line capacity to minimize overtime and utilization of second shift if needed.
- Protect environment by creating a proper procedure of Disposing Water Waste
- GVRD report - Maintain data for “WASTEWATER QUARTERLY TESTING REPORTS”
- Responsible for line maintenance Schedule
- Implement quality tracking procedure.
- Compliance with Health & Safety Standards
- Various other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Attributes**:

- Demonstrable Experience in powder coating/paint shop/manufacturing
- Management/Supervisor qualification or experience
- Ability to work to multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent Interpersonal & Communication Skills

**Must Have Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years progressive supervisory experience preferred. Experienced within Union shop would also be an asset.
- Minimum Two years of experience supervising or managing a powder coating line.

This is a permanent role working on a 7AM - 3:30PM shift Monday - Friday plus Weekend overtime.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
