Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health(LLGAMH) offers services and programs to people who are experiencing **addiction** and/or **mental health** issues. Our main site is located in Brockville, Ontario which is found along the beautiful St. Lawrence River in the heart of the famous 1000 Islands Region. LLGAMH has offices throughout the counties of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville including Brockville, Smiths Falls, Kemptville, Prescott, Gananoque and more. Lanark, Leeds and Grenville represent a population of over 170,000 residents, with the majority living in rural environments.

The Mental Health and Addiction Worker works with clients to implement an individual Recovery Plan of Care to address client goals.

They will monitor and attend to the well-being and safety of residents and maintain a comfortable and clean-living environment. They will work to support clients to improve their social/interpersonal relationships, use leisure time effectively, encourage participation in events, encourage and support the development of natural friendships.

This position provides opportunities to pick up a variety of shifts including afternoons, overnights, weekends and Statutory Holidays as available.

**Primary Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Work with the client who is living in supervised housing as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide seamless access for therapeutic counselling, vocational and educational services, holistic wellness programs, and social and recreational opportunities.
- Establish a therapeutic relationship with clients that will enhance engagement and encourage participation in the client’s individual recovery plan.
- Engage the client in daily activities using engagement techniques based on the individual’s strengths, interests, etc. and to encourage and support the client to achieve their optimum level of functioning.
- Complete documentation necessary to meet agency standard on clients living in group homes.
- Support the client to participate in social and recreational activities, thereby improving their social skills through active participation and interaction with other clients.
- Implement and facilitate activities, generally held evenings and weekends, as determined by the team.
- Encourage and facilitate through role modeling and constant interaction with clients and friendly and positive environment in the home.
- Participate in home program planning with ideas and execution of same.

**Education, Training and Experience**:

- Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Diploma/Degree in a relevant, health-related field.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Safe Food Handling course considered an asset.
- A valid Ontario Driver’s Licence, access to a vehicle, and vehicle insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector police records check.
- Proof of COVID Vaccination (2 doses).

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $23.56-$24.77 per hour
