**Position Summary**
As a Project Scheduler, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring efficient coordination and timely completion of tasks and deliverables. You will work closely with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to create and update project schedules, monitor progress, identify potential delays or risks, and provide recommendations for mitigating schedule-related issues. Your role will be crucial in supporting effective project planning and execution, enabling teams to meet project objectives within specified timelines.
**Major Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to create comprehensive project schedules, considering project scope, goals, constraints, constructability, sequencing, and available resources.
- Regularly update project schedules to reflect changes in project scope, resource availability, and task dependencies. Ensure accuracy and completeness of schedule information and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Providing critical path analyses, identifying problem areas, and creating work-around solutions. Work closely with project teams to gather status updates and address any issues that may impact project timelines.
- Identify schedule-related risks and issues, such as resource conflicts, dependencies, or external factors. Collaborate with project managers to assess potential impacts and develop contingency plans or alternative scheduling approaches.
- Provide clear and timely schedule updates to project teams, stakeholders, and management. Generate reports and visual representations of project schedules as required, highlighting critical path activities, milestones, and key dependencies.
- Review schedule requirements outlined in the prime contract and ensure project schedules meet all requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance scheduling processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy. Foster effective communication and collaboration among project teams, ensuring that schedule dependencies and interdependencies are understood and addressed.
- All other duties as assigned.
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- 5+ years’ experience in developing and managing complex construction schedules using Critical Path Method.
- Education in project management, business administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential schedule-related issues.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Understanding of construction means and methods is an asset.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting contract requirements is an asset.
**Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment**
- Ability to work in an office in a fast-paced environment.
- Providing service to several people, companies, or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Working for long periods of time at a sit/stand workstation in an office environment.
- Overtime as required to complete and submit project requirements on schedule.
- Manual dexterity is required to perform all work using digital programs.
- Flexibility for any required remote work.
