At this time, we are looking for Warehouse and Logistics Support Representative.

Start Date: ASAP

Days/ Hours of Work: Flexible schedule Monday - Sunday approx. 20 hrs/week

The Food Collections Representative reports to the Operations and Warehouse Manager. They are responsible for picking up food donations and purchases from grocery stores, farms, businesses, organizations and individuals as required. As the face of the Barrie Food, they act as an ambassador representing our mission, vision and values to the community.

Specific Responsibilities include:

- Secondary driver for food pickups; 3-5 days per week (4-6 hour shifts) from grocery stores, churches, schools and businesses on a flexible schedule which may include weekend shifts.
- Available for occasional pick-ups outside regular shifts during food drives and events.
- Acts as ambassador with store managers, school principles and other supporters to maintain positive relations.
- Track and record donations by source to enable reporting required by donors (e.g. Walmart, Sobeys).
- Receive food and product donations, weigh and record in Link2Feed by source, and category.
- Sort, organize and date food/products and place onto the warehouse racks, fridges or freezers in a categorical manner according to specified product locations.
- Loading and unloading of food donations.
- Deliver and place food collections bins or barrels in grocery stores or other food collection points throughout the community.
- Build positive relationships with donors and partners making the donation process as easy as possible for them.
- Work with volunteer drivers to coordinate pickups during busy periods.
- Assist with garbage dump runs for recycling cardboard on a weekly basis and during food sorts.
- Communicate daily with Operations and Warehouse Manager regarding any additional pickups/deliveries required prior to end of day.
- Keep fridges and freezers clean, tidy and organized.
- Operate the fork truck in a safe and responsible manner.
- Watch for hazardous situations and clean up after any spills.
- Ensure the warehouse is operating in an overall safe manner.
- Ensure frozen and chilled products are put away immediately.
- Occasionally responsible for opening or closing the food bank.
- Ensure grocery shelves, fridges and freezers are well stocked for the afternoon self-shopping.
- Other duties as occasionally assigned.

Key Qualifications:

- Valid G licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Able to lift 60lbs.
- Positive, “can-do” attitude
- Good communications skills
- Have good organizational and planning skills to assist in coordinating the pick-ups especially during food drives.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fun, fast-paced environment.
- Criminal reference clearance required.
- Knowledge and experience of grocery store or warehouse operations.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn safe food handling practices.
- Attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license,
- Forklift Certification
- Safe Food Handling Certification an asset
- Positive attitude.
