**Your role**

**Your key tasks**:

- Edit a large volume of copy on the Radio-Canada.ca website to ensure high-quality French.
- Answer journalists’ grammar and spelling questions.
- Assist journalists in translating content from English to French.
- Assist journalists with terminology research.
- Provide journalists with ongoing training to improve their grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc., and empower them with language skills.

**Please note this is a hybrid role. Primary location: Montreal**

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in professional writing/editing, translation, French-language education or the equivalent
- Background in journalism or completion of copy-editing courses an asset
- At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in copy-editing or translation revision

**Skills**:

- Outstanding French-language skills (semantics, stylistics, grammar, syntax, vocabulary)
- Excellent editorial skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid command of digital communication techniques
- Very good knowledge of Quebec writing and editing standards
- Extensive general knowledge (must keep up with Canadian and international news and current affairs)
- Excellent knowledge of reference materials (dictionaries, glossaries, etc.) and terminology databases, particularly Canadian sources
- Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices, an asset
- Ability to analyze, synthesize and think critically
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to adapt (open office environment, teamwork, hybrid remote work, varying schedule)
- Good knowledge of English, an asset
