**About the Opportunity**:
The Manager Financial Reporting & Systems reports to the Director, Finance and is responsible for the data and reporting strategy for Finance. This will include collection and reporting of month end, forecasting and budgeting as well as supporting specific business driven data investigations. The applicant would have the opportunity to collaborate with senior members of the organization and will be committed to a high standard of performance to assist senior leaders in supporting Nova Scotia Health's strategic mission, vision and goals.

This position will:

- Understand current business trends / requirements and develop relevant, timely reporting to allow for effective decision making
- Lead the month end reporting cycle including YTD results, FTE (full time equivalent) reporting and forecasting
- Work collaboratively with other key financial stakeholders including the budgeting and business case teams to support their process requirements
- Be an active steward of EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) tables, views, and processes to ensure we have historical data capture of critical datasets for future reporting needs
- Have the highest focus on data integrity ensuring that all data required to update processes is completed in a timely and accurate fashion. They will continually look for ways to advance and automate all ETL (extract, transform, load) processes with the assistance of IMIT to ensure relevant data is available in the correct environment at the correct time.

This position contributes to the operational leadership to corporate functions which envision, enable and support the ongoing development and delivery of high quality, provincially integrated health programs and services that are based on provincial standards of care, efficient, sustainable, safe and responsive to the needs of Nova Scotians. The position contributes to the leadership of and supports strategies and operational plans consistent with legislation, accountability frameworks and the mission, vision and values of the organization. The position supports a provincially integrated process and assists with leading the design and development of numerous business plans and business cases to enable healthcare transformation to support the effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of services and programs.

This position supervises staff who are responsible for answering day-to-day financial questions of the NSH management leadership. The Manager Financial Reporting & Systems positions will work closely together to guide and mentor their teams to ensure that there is consistency in service delivery to all NSH management across the province.

This position is eligible for remote work within Central Zone.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related discipline required. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience
- Undergraduate degree and professional accounting designation and certification (CMA, CGA, or CA) an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or Health Related field
- Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset
- Experience working with financial data and processes (month end close, budget and forecasting processes)
- Knowledge of the role of metadata management in data governance
- Strong analytical skills to gather and implement user requirements
- Ability to lead development of Business Requirements Document (BRD)
- Experience in establishing robust ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes
- Advanced knowledge of SQL programming
- Experience working with VBA considered an asset
- Data visualization skills an asset
- Experience with Tableau, an asset
- Strong data modeling skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
