**We are looking for a Creative Development Specialist (Interpretive Planning and Exhibitions)**

As a Creative Development Specialist, you will be responsible for leading interpretive planning within multidisciplinary exhibition project teams to support the overall visitor experience primarily at the Canadian Children’s Museum for new projects and renewal of the Museum; conceptualizing coherent and engaging visitor experiences; developing interpretive approaches and strategies for exhibition-related projects; and providing interpretive oversight during the production of interpretive tools.

**What we are looking for**:

**A minimum of three years of combined relevant experience in**:

- Creativity and conceptual thinking in developing experiences for child and family audiences.
- Creative development of permanent, temporary and/or travelling exhibitions for diverse audiences in museums, galleries or other cultural institutions;
- Interpretive planning of exhibitions from the initial concept to the opening;
- Conceptualization and development of a wide range of products for exhibitions (including printed, interactive, digital and multi-media products) to offer engaging visitor experiences;
- Writing various types of communication tools at a superior level for different audiences (ex. Exhibition text, digital products);
- Developing various planning documents during the exhibition development process and presenting ideas, approaches and strategies effectively and professionally for their approval.

**Knowledge of**:

- Current museological theory and practices as it relates to overall visitor experience and a wide range of museum products;
- Methods to engage diverse museum audiences through a wide range of strategies, such as but not limited to storytelling, interactivity, and immersive experiences;
- Creative thinking and facilitation techniques;
- Learning theory, pedagogy, and visitor studies;
- Child development stages;
- Indigenous methodologies in project development (an asset).

**Education**: Degree in museum studies, heritage, education, history, arts, social sciences or humanities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Compensation**: E6 ($71,173 to $88,080) (under review)
**Status**:Temporary full-Time Position until December 31, 2025 with possibility of extension (# 10029-01)
**Location**: 100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec and possibility of hybrid work as per the operational requirements of the position.
