Reporting to the Manager of Capital Planning, the Capital Planning Analyst will assist in identifying, developing and implementing process improvements to the GoA’s capital planning process. This position will work with capital planning staff to gather information and update capital planning documentation, processes and procedures. The position provides recommendations on a number of initiatives related to capital planning, funding, and implementation in order to meet department and government mandates. This position works with Capital Planners and other Budget Analysts to provide input into process and business improvement projects and facilitates communication about relevant changes with other ministries.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to
- Provide support to the Capital Planning team to gather information and prepare documentation, including meeting with program ministries to identify and implement capital planning process improvements.
- Support briefing notes, summaries and correspondence, conduct research and interpret findings regarding capital planning issues.
- Support the continuous improvement and implementation of the framework for GoA-wide capital planning.

This position is also responsible for working with an assigned portfolio of ministries to provide guidance, expertise and consultation regarding the broader Government of Alberta capital planning framework

The scope of work for this position is guided by the strategic capital planning framework, the mandate and priorities of the capital planning initiative, and existing GoA administrative and financial policies and processes.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in civil or construction engineering or related discipline plus at least 2 years of related experience in capital planning processes, project delivery, public relations and policy development, or communication.

Equivalency may be considered on the basis of:
A related diploma with 4 years of experience in capital planning.
