Opportunity to join the finance team of a mid-size transportation company as our Payroll/HR specialist. This permanent position will be responsible for a multi-province payroll of approximately 100 employees using 3 different payroll accounts. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and works 37.5 hours per week.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage, prepare & process bi-weekly payroll for 100 employees in a semi-automated environment.
- Verify driver employees trip mileage prior to payroll processing.
- Enter data into Ceridian Dayforce, preview and verify register, complete reconciliations and journal entries.
- Year-end responsibilities: T4 / T4 summary / Taxable benefits / Year-end adjustments / Annual returns.
- Maintain Dayforce payroll system for new employee information, code changes.
- Answer routine employee payroll and policy questions.
- Prepare and file Record of Employment.
- Month-end calculation, remittances for pension and workers compensation.
- Benefits administration.
- File and administer compensation claims.

**Skills and qualifications**
- Minimum 3 years full cycle payroll experience.
- Experience with Ceridian payroll system.
- CPA Payroll fundamentals course completion and knowledge of federal payroll legislation.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with highly accurate results.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry a definite asset.
