**Résumé de l’emploi**:
ACORN cherche à combler un poste d’été d’organisateur communautaire à temps plein. L’organisateur aura comme objectif d’accroître notre base de membres et de les aider à mener des campagnes cruciales pour le contrôle des loyers, la fin du déplacement des locataires, et en finir avec le racisme systémique.
**Que fait un organisateur d’ACORN ?**
Ils font du porte à porte, d’immeuble à immeuble, écoutant les préoccupations des résidents de la communauté et manifestant ce qu’ils veulent voir changer pour une action de masse efficace. Ils organiseront des manifestations, développeront des campagnes, écouterons et travailleront près de nos membres.

**Qu’est-ce que ACORN ?**
On est une association de locataires. On est une association d’actions pour les handicapés (es). On est une association de travailleurs (euses). On est une action de consommateurs (trices). On est ce que nos membres veulent que l’on soit. Nos membres paient des cotisations pour que l’organisme soit durable et indépendant du financement extérieur comme le travail, le gouvernement or les organismes. Chaque membre a le droit de vote et seuls (es) les membres s’expriment pour l’organisme. Nos membres élisent un conseil d’administration (CA) et ont autorité les politiques et déterminer les tactiques de l’association.

ACORN est un organisme à enjeux multiples, une union de gens à faibles et revenus modérés. Le but de cette union est de donner aux gens à faibles et moyens revenus le pouvoir pour qu’ils (elles) aient la capacité d’avoir leurs voix efficacement entendues aux plus hauts niveaux du pays. Avec les chapitres partout dans les régions, la province et partout au pays, ACORN est à la fois capable d’être basée localement gagnant des campagnes locales et comme vaste organisme combinant des forces pour combattre les sociétés nationales et les gouvernements qui sont à la base même de la plupart nos problèmes.

**Descriptif du poste**:
L’emploi d’un organisateur (trice) d’ACORN est de construire des groupes formels de classe ouvrière afin qu’ils puissent perturber et changer les systèmes qui ont un impact négatif sur leur communauté.
La formation sur place permet aux personnes d’apprendre tous les éléments de la gestion d’une organisation, ainsi que les essentielles sur comment être un (e) organisateur (trice) communautaire. Ceci inclut le rayonnement efficace, les stratégies de recherche, la planification de campagnes, les communications, l’organisation d’activités et d’événements, obtenir la couverture médiatique pour nos actions et nos campagnes et le financement externe et interne.

**Tâches et responsabilités**:

- Représenter ACORN à travers les quartiers et avec notre leadership, durant des réunions externes, ou des événements.
- Accroître notre base à Montréal en effectuant un travail de sensibilisation important et continu.
- Travaillant avec les leaders d’ACORN pour élargir à la fois nos combats locaux contre le déplacement des locataires, les rénovations, les démovictions, tout comme les combats provinciaux pour le réel contrôle des loyers.
- Travailler avec nos dirigeants pour développer des campagnes de lutte contre le racisme.
- Travailler avec nos employés (es) entraîneurs (euses) au Québec sur une base quotidienne.
- Participer à des réunions et à des formations à l’extérieur de la province (frais payés).
- Financement et demandant du financement est une partie essentielle du travail d’un (e) organisateur (trice). On est structuré comme un syndicat : les membres d’ACORN paient leurs cotisations d’adhésion.
- Effectuant plusieurs tâches la même journée, la flexibilité et la résilience sont les clés du succès.

**Qualifications et compétences**:
Français courant
Avoir de bonnes compétences sociales.
Avoir la volonté de travailler en équipe, comme leader ou participant (es).
Capacité d’écoute pour identifier les enjeux affectant notre communauté.
Aucune expérience de travail payée requise. Formation en organisation professionnelle fournie.
Horaire et rémunération:
Travail de 42 heures par semaine, principalement l’après-midi et le soir, parfois le samedi.
Salaire de $38,7000 to $43,000
50% de rabais sur titre mensuel STM
