**This is a summer position running June 30 through the end of August. Applicants must be returning to High School or post-secondary in the Fall.

Job duties:
Tour Guide

The student will take the public on a guided tour through our four historic buildings and train caboose. They will learn the history of our buildings and artifacts in order to tell a story while showcasing our museum.

Accessioning

The student will take the time to learn how to accession artifact donations in the correct software system. They will also learn how to handle and store artifacts.

Cleaning

The student will have the task to clean the main museum building along with our four historic buildings and train caboose. The cleaning duties including the following:

- Sweep
- Mop
- Dust
- Vacuum
- Clean bathrooms
- Clean historic buildings
- Dust artifacts

Assist the manager with daily tasks

The student will work alongside the manager with the following tasks:

- Social media advertising
- Newspaper articles
- Exhibition set up
- Summer programming

Team lead with our Friday Pre School Program

The student will get the opportunity to lead a program for one hour every Friday. The role includes the following tasks:

- Developing a lesson plan
- Working with children
- Working with crafts
- Games
- Providing an educational experience

We prefer applicants with coursework in: history, education, museum studies, library studies, modern language and cultural studies, or similar topics, but all students are welcome to apply.
