**Job Summary**:
Serves as an intermediate technical specialist in the key area of industrial hygiene, linking with assigned internal and external stakeholders, acting as a SH&E resource.
**Responsibilities**:
- Respond to complex queries utilizing process risk and hazard assessment methods with regards to new compounds, processes, handling methods, storage and disposal of material as they relate to industrial hygiene matters.
- Support the development of pharmaceutical classifications with the calculation of OELs and the generation and/or reviews of classification matrices.
- Support the JHSC and other designated committees as a resource and provide expertise as it relates to industrial hygiene matters. This includes the identification and follow-up activities associated with auditing for industrial hygiene issues.
- Assist in the identification of industrial hygiene deficiencies during the design phase of projects involving equipment/process/facilities changes.
- Participate in incident/accident investigations with exposure potential and track the implementation of all recommendations.
- Provide cross-functional support with SH&E team members in areas involving industrial hygiene initiatives.
- Provides an experienced technical level of input into the development and updating of SH&E policies, Safe Work Procedures, department goals and objectives, and budgets as they relate to industrial hygiene and respiratory protection program management.
- Deliver training for the activities defined by the SH&E Program.
- Review workplace Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for details relating to Occupational Exposure Limits (including their determination as required) and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Perform duties of Radiation Safety Officer
- Creates a positive and creative team environment based on mutual trust and respect.
- Takes a technical leadership role, serving as a technical expert in the areas of industrial hygiene management, and often serving as a project/team leader.
- Takes the initiative to provide tactical coaching to line managers, other team members and employees and communicating best practices pertaining to industrial hygiene practices.
- Be capable of resolving complex issues as they arise and identifying when the issue needs to be escalated.
- Stays aware of the “leading edge” of industrial hygiene professional services area, through regular professional development activities and review of current and pending occupational health and safety legislation.
- Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

- Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.
- All other relevant duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or equivalent Engineering degree or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene or relate field.
- 2-3 years relevant experience, with preference given to Industrial Hygiene experience would be an asset; Previous experience in a manufacturing or lab environment, with exposure to the pharmaceutical industry and industrial hygiene management is preferred
- Proven ability as a team player
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
- Excellent organizational / project management skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access software package
- Understanding of the pertinent safety, health and environment acts, regulations, codes and standards is an asset.
