Driver (Casual)

**NOW HIRING: CASUAL DRIVERS - G & B CLASS LICENCE**

**Location**:Lakeshore & Essex

**Hourly Rate**:$17.86

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible transit vehicle in the surrounding Lakeshore, Tecumseh and Essex area
- Be physically able to meet the demands of the job, which can include assisting clients on and off the bus, pushing wheelchairs and some lifting
- Follow the schedule of client pick-ups and drop-offs as prepared
- Report to the Transportation Program Coordinator or Schedulers any issues or needs (i.e. vehicle maintenance, repair, incidents)
- Maintain the vehicle in a manner which will ensure the safety of clients and drivers
- Ensure that transit vehicles and equipment are in good working order
- Perform daily safety checks of vehicles
- Clean interior and exterior of vehicles and maintain adequate on-board supplies
- Provide courteous, efficient and reliable transportation, and represent CSC in a positive and courteous manner at all times
- Maintain client satisfaction and consult with the Program Coordinator regarding all complaints regarding services, staff or volunteers
- Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients
- Provide clients with a safe, comfortable, pleasant, and non-threatening environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Safely transport passengers in compliance with all regulations
- Adhere to the Transportation department's schedule
- Ensure the vehicle's safety and cleanliness for passengers and driver
- Maintain a clean driving abstract and provide police clearance
- Possess a valid G License or B Class
- Maintain valid CPR and First Aid certifications
- Minimum of five years' driving experience
- Experience in serving seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Effective collaboration with fellow drivers
- Perform assigned duties and responsibilities
- Bilingualism is an asset

Our Carelink transportation service is a lifeline for those who may otherwise not be able to attend life-saving appointments such as Dialysis and Chemotherapy. The Community Support Centre of Essex County is the lead transportation provider for CareLink Health Transit, a collaboration between multiple agencies spanning Windsor/Essex, Chatham/Kent, and Sarnia/Lambton.

We provide convenient and affordable door-to-door pick-up and drop-off services to help you get to your medical appointments, social activities, or shopping trips. Our fully accessible fleet and friendly drivers cater to individuals who are:

- Aged 55 and above
- Aged 17 and above, traveling for medical appointments
- Aged 17 and above, living with a disability and traveling for social activities
