Under the direction of the Applied Behaviour Analytic (ABA) Lead, the Behaviour Analyst will act as a member of the Special Education and Student Services department to provide ABA support and services to school teams and students. This includes conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments, developing Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), and teaching/coaching educators to implement plans using a Behavioural Skills Training (BST) framework. The role also includes providing school embedded and formal staff training in the area of ABA. This is a full time temporary position with an expected start date of September 4, 2023 and end date of December 22,2023.

**Responsibilities**:
Members of the ABA team provides a continuum of support and services at a multi-tiered (1-3) level

ABA Team members receive referrals from schools regarding students who are exhibiting challenging, oftentimes externalizing behaviour.

**Tier 3**: The majority of referrals will require tier 3 level of support, which include conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments and the development of BSP

Model and coach educators to implement BSPs in the classroom/school setting using a Behaviour Skills Training (BST) model

**Tier 2**: Referral at the tier 2 level are consultation based, which involve supporting school teams with general ABA strategies for students or classrooms

**Tier 1**: This level of intervention includes providing professional learning to school teams in the area of ABA

Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team for the best interest of the student

Provide supervision to Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) staff and conduct task list assessments of RBT staff

Research best practices pertaining to ABA

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Experience

**Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) (or in progress**: completion prior to September 2023 required)

Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Education, Psychology, or ABA

Completion of a post-graduate studies in Autism, Behavioural Science or Psychology

Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis

Demonstrates excellence in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis

Knowledge of elementary and secondary education in Ontario and relevant Ministry policies and procedures (e.g. PPM 140)

Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills

Strong public speaking/presentation skills

Proven analytical and technical skills

Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills

Ability to work effectively as a member of a mulit-disciplinary team as well as independently

Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity

Proficiency with software programs including Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms)

A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle

Member of Ontario Association for Behavioural Analysis

Previous supervisory experience considered an asset

Certification in Nonviolent Prevention Intervention considered an asset

**The following would be considered an asset**:
Formal training and experience in Practical Functional Assessment & Skill Based Treatment

This is a full time temporary position with an annual salary range of $83,530 to $106,427 plus 4% vacation pay. This salary will be prorated as applicable to the duration of the assignment.
