**The McCord Museum Foundation is seeking a Officer, Major Gifts, Philanthropic Development.**

**Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, the McCord Museum Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to ensuring the success of the McCord Stewart Museum and contributing to the preservation and dissemination of its collections. With the assistance of the Foundation’s generous donors, it supports the McCord Stewart Museum and enables it to preserve its world-renowned collections and to tell the story of Montréal, Quebec and Canada through its educational programs and exhibitions. The Foundation’s support also enables the McCord Stewart Museum’s experienced curators to pursue their meticulous research and publication activities.**

Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent contributes to the success of the Foundation’s activities, particularly in the area of major gifts. They establish connections, maintain relationships with donors, and carry out solicitation efforts to achieve the organization’s funding objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement, in collaboration with management, the strategy for acquiring new donors and renewing existing partnerships;
- Occasionally organize fundraising campaigns requiring major gifts for the realization of specific projects;
- Develop and oversee the recognition program for major donors;
- Develop monitoring tools, conduct analyses, and craft marketing pitches
- Conduct research on the industry and potential donors;
- Collaborate with management to identify, recruit, and coordinate the volunteer structures necessary for solicitations;
- When needed, input and update data in the computerized database system and generate required reports;
- Plan and effectively manage budgets related to programs under their responsibility;
- Ensure proper accounting/administrative follow-up for major gifts;
- Monitor philanthropy trends to integrate best practices.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Regular work schedule: 35 hours per week;
- Probation period: 6 months;
- 2 weeks of vacation during the holiday period, 3 during the year, wellness, personal and sick days, floating holidays.

The incumbent is open-minded and demonstrates a strong interest in history, culture, and sustainable development. Known for their creative, innovative mindset and excellent listening skills they stand out for their ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and their deep sense of ethics. Organized, analytical, and results-oriented, they work closely with management and make well-informed decisions. An exceptional communicator, their interpersonal skills and agility grant them a high capacity for adaptation.

**In addition, they meet the following criteria**:

- Holds an undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, administration or a relevant field; a certificate in philanthropy is an asset;
- Has at least 3 years' experience in fundraising management; any combination of experience/education will be considered;
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills;
- Bilingualism, both written and spoken;
- Has good experience of philanthropic practices and strategies;
- Is a strategic thinker, able to develop and maintain results-oriented and action-oriented approaches;
- Is creative and able to work with new approaches and technologies;
- Excellent knowledge of computer databases, an asset.
