**As ATB’s next Risk Analyst, **you are the first line of defense, fostering a culture or risk awareness in alignment with ATB Business’ Risk Appetite Statement. The Risk Analyst, with Portfolio Credit Risk Management team, will work with various stakeholders in the ongoing assessment of business lending files and business lending processes and policies for ATB Business.

Accountabilities:

- Possess strong understanding of loan requirements, lending and collateral processes, regulatory and compliance requirements, ATB policies, accounting principles, and auditing technique
- Work independently, and with other departments, to complete projects related to change in processes, remediation activities and information gathering and research
- Assess risk based monitoring programs; identifies gaps, areas of weakness, and trends; routinely formulates appropriate recommendations
- Provide expert levels of oversight and reporting on client loan files to ensure that ATB Business is operating within our risk appetite framework
- Communicate with all levels of the business delivering findings or areas of improvement from reviews in a positive and supportive manner
- Network and build solid relationships with other areas of expertise to gain a broader scope of risk initiatives (Business Credit, Loan Review, Internal Assurance)
- Maintain “up to the minute” knowledge of lending policies and procedures
- Provide Quality Assurance reviews and coaching to teammates specific to business lending practices
- Proactively mentor, train, and develop other members of the Business Risk Portfolio Credit Risk Management team
- Act as a primary contact support partner requests when audits are conducted by providing supporting documentations, potential walkthrough of files and other ad hoc initiatives
- Step into leader's role in their absence (attend meetings, represent views and influence discussions)

**Requirements**:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- 5+ years experience working in a Financial Institution with a focus on business lending and risk management and demonstrated progression in responsibilities and accountabilities
- CFE and/or CPA certification would be considered an asset
- Business or accounting degree
- Expert with G-Suite and additional Google tools (Data Studio, AppSheets)
- Ability to detect challenges and gaps into opportunities for future success
- Strong management and administration skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple priorities and to determine the most appropriate solution based on organizational and client needs
- Professional positive attitude, teamwork oriented workplace behavior, as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent communication, active listening and problem solving skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and relationships for allied departments
- Tasks completed independently with mínimal input from management
- Skilled in collecting data and using it to tell stories and identify opportunities
- Ability to provide professional feedback to foster good relations with all teammates
- Strong administrative, analytical, and organizational skills
