FO Quant Data Steward - VP

**WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?**

The Core Quant team in RBC Capital Markets is undertaking many multi-asset regulatory and FO driven programs. In this role you will be responsible for strategically solutioning and leading testing for the data analytics and data stewardship responsibilities. The role would be expected to be able to consult and contribute knowledge of best practices for valuation reporting, leveraging many support functions for the trading floor.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
- Leverage your front-office product and SME knowledge in Risk and Finance valuations, for developing reporting (trader & regulatory), analyze data, and identify valuations gaps.
- Project manage, gathering requirements, leading testing, and communicating status/risks to stakeholders.
- Perform solutioning with Quants, Architecture, Model Valuation, Data Modelling, Risk Mgmt, Finance, and Front-office IT.
- Conduct data profiling, governance, and business analysis.
- Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner. Monitor and control activities according to plan.
- Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate
- Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional capital market initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.
- Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.

**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?**

**Must have**:

- Minimum 10 years supporting Capital Markets, with front-office trading systems or trading operations system experience.
- Solid understanding of Risk valuations.
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
- Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
- Possess strong excel skills, with working knowledge of relational databases.
- Interest Rate Derivatives product knowledge.
- Murex Rates vendor platform for trade processing, curve building, and general valuations.

**Nice-to-have**:

- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers. Experienced in leading scrum sessions and working group.
- Degree or training in engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses. Focused on problem solving with exception level of attention to detail.
- Ability to code in VBA, Python, or SQL.
