**Position summary**

Reporting to the Associate Director of Agreements and Processing, the Donation Processing Associate has primary responsibility for completing depositing activities (cash/cheque, credit card, and online), and processing donations by cash, cheque, online donations, electronic funds transfers, credit card, payroll, gifts in kind, insurance, securities, and pledges in accordance with the requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency and internal University of Alberta Policies and procedures.

The Donation Processing Associate also contributes to quality assurance activities including reviewing the work of other Donation Processing Associates, and Donation Processing Assistants in an effort to minimize errors on donors tax receipts and ensure funds are allocated appropriately

**Duties**

Donation depositing; reviewing incoming donations to ensure they qualify for a receipt and deposit to the bank
- Processes donations arriving in the form of cheques, cash, credit cards, and online gifts
- Processes complex donation types including securities, gift in kind, electronic funds transfers and split receipts
- Processes transactions to include in fundraising achievement including pledges, sponsorships, or grants
- Creates new donor entities in the Advance fundraising database
- Processes recurring (monthly, quarterly, annual) credit card payments
- Prepares pledge reminder letters

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Finance. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of one year experience in a fast paced accounting or banking environment, or at a charitable organization. Preference given to individuals with experience processing donations in a post-secondary environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Prior experience with PeopleSoft and Ellucian Advance preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Google suite of products

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Working knowledge and understanding of FOIP
- Knowledge of current University of Alberta Policies and Procedures
