Reporting to the Director of Employment Services, the role of the Community Liaison Coordinator is to promote and market Beacon’s Employment Services in the communities of the Greater Victoria Capital Region District, the Sidney Saanich Peninsula and Southern Gulf Islands, through producing and publishing marketing materials and liaising with service providers, community agencies, educational institutes, chambers, business associations and employers in order to develop and foster community engagement.

**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop strategies that raise the public profile of Beacon Community Employment Services in the community through:
a) Managing social media channels (creating content, responding to questions and comments, and interacting online with other agencies connected with Beacon’s Employment Services Program)

b) Promoting all employment programs to job seekers, business associations and employers, ensuring all clients register with WorkBC as first point of contact.

c) Coordinating with employers and WorkBC team members to secure available job postings

d) Coordinate presentations to groups and institutions to increase awareness about WorkBC and other employer programs

e) Develop, produce and distribute promotional materials in print and electronic form.

f) Developing and participating in outreach and recruitment activities by attending job fairs and/or community resource fairs, employer forums, etc.
- Align strategies and marketing campaigns accordingly with brand image of each employment program
- Facilitating pre-employment workshops in-person and on-line to clients and prospective clients
- Performing duties such as making cold calls, networking and developing partnerships with employers and agencies.
- Gather and distribute local labour market information.
- Work collaboratively with Maximus and WorkLink Employment Society in preparing and delivering job fairs on a rotational basis.
- Coordinate and present advertising possibilities to the Director of Employment Services.
- Coordinate special events to promote Beacon’s Employment Services
- Work on special initiatives assigned by the Director such as targeted marketing with Client Inclusion Groups such as Indigenous People, Youth At Risk, Immigrants, Survivors of Violence &/or Abuse, Persons with Disabilities, etc.
- Prepare monthly marketing reports for management and WorkBC team
- Prepare quarterly marketing reports for management and Ministry
- Prepare, produce and distribute quarterly newsletter for Employers.
- Work collaboratively with management to prepare Annual Business Plan
- Does follow-up required with potential new clients resulting from job fairs and other events in cooperation with other team members.
- Work cooperatively with Beacon’s Salt Spring Island and Central Saanich Offices and WorkBC subcontractors for special events such as job fairs, employer forums, promotional events, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies which increase Beacon Employment Services’ on-line presence.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, and all team-related activities and events occurring during scheduled working hours
- Provide vacation relief for other team members as required
- Perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of recognized post-secondary education in related field and/or a combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience in a marketing or community coordinator position working with employers, chambers, business associations, community serving agencies and other employment service providers
- Two years of experience as a social media manager or similar role
- Knowledge of employment and local community resources

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Canva, MailChimp, Survey Monkey preferred
- Experience working in multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, other)
- Ability to produce and deliver creative content (text, image, and video)
- Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
- Attention to detail to ensure marketing specifications are met
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills

- Conflict resolution skills
