Agueci Calabretta, colloquially known as AC Law, is a boutique law firm focused on debtor/creditor law with an emphasis on mortgage enforcement and real estate transactions for financial institutions. Working with lawyers and law clerks, our team is well equipped to address any real estate matters, from simple closings of purchases, sales, mortgages, and refinances, to acting on behalf of institutional mortgage and private lenders.
**What We Are Looking For**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain carriage of power of sale files from beginning to end
- Liaise with property managers with a view to securing and maintaining properties
- Preparation of letters, writs of possession, discharge statements, and other related documents
- Oversee the preparation of properties for sale and manage the listing process
- Engage and appoint realtors and appraisers
- Order and review appraisals and Current Market Analysis
- Review Agreements of Purchase and Sales on behalf of client
- Ensure that client is updated via DRN, Techom and/or Litigation/Collection Highway in a timely manner
- Preparing and sending document requests to client as required
- Review file and escalate concerns to lawyer
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3-5 years previous experience as a Mortgage Enforcement Law Clerk
- Strong knowledge of the power of sale process in Ontario
- The ability to effectively balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a law clerk program
**Skills**:
- Experience with Techom/DRN/FCT/Litigation Highway
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Able to work independently
- Ability to problem solve; good judgement and decision making
- High level of professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills
