**Title**: Advisor, Urban & Away from Home
**Contract**: Term to December 2024
**Hours**: Full-time, 7:30am-3:30pm / 8am-4pm / 8:30am-4:30pm / 9am-5pm
**Location**: Hybrid - Work location flexible in different regions of British Columbia (Minimum 50% in the office).

**About the role**
As the Advisor, Urban & Away from Home, you will provide strategic advice, guidance, communications, collaboration, coordination and planning support to the functions of the COO office, Regional Offices, and other FNHA departments as it relates to urban and away from home First Nations. In serving a provincial role, the Advisor works with the Director, Urban and Away from Home, in advancing the Urban and Away from Home portfolio/Framework by initiating engagement, strategies, programs and services and implementation of the strategic plan and by supporting collaboration with local and regional teams within FNHA and other partners.

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have
- University degree in public policy, political science, First Nations governance, or related discipline plus 4-6 years of relevant specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Significant, relevant and recent experience in providing written advice, communication tools, briefings or published papers
- Significant, relevant and recent experience in project management supporting projects and small teams
- Experience in research, report and publications writing
- Experience in maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities, health associations, government(s)
- Understanding of current health issues facing BC First Nation individuals
- Knowledge of the BC First Nations Health Governance Structure, Tripartite agreements and processes, including transition and transformation
- Knowledge of the BC First Nation political and governance landscape and the current community, Nation and Regional contexts
- Knowledge of community engagement and development, provincial and federal health systems, and First Nations health system needs especially as it related to the urban and away from home population
- Knowledge of cultural humility and safety principles and practices
- Knowledge of First Nations perspectives on wellness
