**Responsibilities**:
1. Assist the QA Manager in developing item master descriptions for new products in the ERP system that reference applicable technical documents and revision levels when required.

2. Ensure the controlled distribution and filing of approved technical documents, maintain them at their correct revision levels, and take appropriate actions to control products in stock affected by changed technical documents.

3. Evaluate the capabilities of new vendors by one or more methods including a vendor evaluation document questionnaire, a facility audit and a first article inspection, as required, or as directed by the QA Manager.

4. Assist the QA Manager in reviewing and approving before issuing all purchase orders for special products (non-nuclear and non-aerospace) made to controlled technical documents in order to ensure that the item master descriptions are correct and reference all applicable documents and correct revision levels

5. Develop procurement specifications jointly with the QA Manager when they are required to define technical requirements.

6. Maintain an approved vendor list and monitor vendor performance every 3 months to ensure that vendors continue to meet PPL’s quality performance criteria and determine jointly with the QA Manager the appropriate and effective action be taken against unsatisfactory vendors to maintain the quality of products at an acceptable level.

7. Generate Inspection & Test inspections for fasteners & engineered industrial products.

8. Conduct visual & dimensional inspections of fasteners & engineered industrial products.

9. Maintain inspection & test equipment in a state of scheduled calibration.

10. Assist Sales & Purchasing personnel as necessary when technical input is needed

**Experience Requirements**
- Ability to interpret technical drawings & specifications.
- A good knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practice, and familiarity with use of inspection and test equipment.
- Proven ability to use computer software including Word and Excel as a minimum, and database management systems.
- Ability to work effectively with customers and suppliers, have good attention to detail, and skilled at problem analysis and resolution.
- Proficient in **English** language communications both verbal and written.

Requirement
- Certified Engineering (Mechanical) **Technologist Diploma** or Machinist
- A knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 would be an asset.
- A knowledge in the Fasteners Industry would be an asset.
