**The responsibilities of a Water Resources Technician are expected to include (but are not limited to)**:

- Surveying watercourses
- Drafting the designs of natural and engineered channels
- Collect, compile, manage and assess hydrology, hydraulic, climate, and geomorphological data
- Work collaboratively across offices and disciplines
- Engage with clients and regulatory agencies

**Required Qualifications**:

- Diploma or degree in relevant engineering discipline
- 2+ year of relevant work experience (co-op experience will be considered)
- In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD software
- Advanced topographic surveying skills with total station and RTK GPS
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- The ability to travel to remote areas safely and efficiently for site meetings and/or fieldwork

**Additional Desired Qualifications**:

- In-depth knowledge of GIS software
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic modelling software (e.g. HEC-RAS)
- Bathymetric surveying experience
- Technical report writing experience
- Experience with RPAS (i.e. drone) equipment
- Construction and post-construction monitoring experience
- Environmental permitting and approvals experience
- Working knowledge of the principles of natural channel design
- Experience with flood mapping and flood hazard assessments
- Membership, or eligibility for membership, with Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
