**Medical Science Liaison - Ophthalmology, Quebec**

Supporting the Canadian product launch of Eylea 8mg, the MSL shall act as a scientific expert between Bayer and the medical community through the dissemination and education of scientific data and material. The MSL establishes long-term scientific/ strategic relationships with physicians and experts and with related major medical associations and academic centers of excellence.

These relationships will ensure that thought leaders (TLs) and organizations have access to relevant scientific information and that pertinent information is shared with the medical community.

The MSL uses their experience and knowledge to interact with key external medical and pharmacy professionals via one-on-one interaction, small group discussion, symposia lecture presentations and interactions associated with sponsored medical education programs and research protocols. The MSL will facilitate thought leader involvement in national, regional and local educational forums including symposia and learning events as well as advisory/ consultant meetings.

The MSL also serves as an important partner to internal stakeholders within Bayer by communicating relevant information from TLs to cross-functional partners.

**This is a permanent position for an MSL within the ophthalmology team in Quebec, Canada.**

**What you will do**:

- Exchange and dissemination of scientific, educational, and research related information:
The MSL plans, prepares and engages with TLs as an information scientist both proactively and reactively. MSLs provide dissemination, clarification and education of scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature.
- Interactions with Medical Societies and Advisory Boards:
The MSL answers medical / scientific queries of Medical Societies with regards to Bayer products and organizes / supports / participates in advisory boards.
- Participation at / networking in Congresses and Conventions:
The MSL attends congresses and conventions, interacts with TLs, establishes new contacts and gathers new insights.
- Coordination of Scientific Education Activities:
The MSL plans and organizes scientific training and education events / sessions with TLs within their specific therapeutic area or product expertise.
- Collection of unsolicited Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) ideas and facilitating IIR set-up:
The MSL acts as a point of contact for investigators, facilitating the interface with investigators and appropriate Bayer personnel responsible for approval, and communication of study progress and completion.
- Up to 50% travel is expected, including overnight (Quebec / Atlantic).

**Who you are**:

- MSL experience in ophthalmology, specifically with Eylea
- PhD, Pharm.D, or MSc preferred with relevant industry experience
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to build productive work-relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to work independently and a demonstrated self-starter
- Excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills
- Good organization skills with thorough attention to detail ensuring timely follow-through and closure with Thought Leaders and fellow MSL
- Business acumen and understanding of business strategy
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingual in French and English
