**Restaurant Leader**

We are looking to hire an experienced leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen & restaurant team. Everything that goes out of the kitchen is the responsibility of the restaurant leader in the eyes of the Matamak brand; therefore, it is essential for the person with this job to be able to maintain complete control of the kitchen at all times and to respectfully command the respect of his or her kitchen staff.

A person in this leadership role must be able to spot problems and resolve them quickly and efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude, level head, and while delegating many kitchen tasks simultaneously. This person will have 3-5+ years of kitchen leadership experience in addition to culinary education. This position is also charged with operating on the line while maximizing the productivity of the kitchen staff, as well as managing the inventory and food related profit margins.

Maintaining impeccable personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in the workplace is incredibly important for all culinary team members, and this position is expected to set an example for the culinary team below him or her. This leader will have worked their way up the kitchen hierarchy in many different roles before assuming this particular title.

This person must understand the importance of creativity in a quick-serve or fast casual related atmosphere and have experience in such role.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

This position has a large range of duties and responsibilities within the kitchen. The most important of these is to ensure that quality culinary dishes are served on schedule and to see that any problems that arise are rectified. As such, the Restaurant Leader is responsible for approving all prepared food items that leave his or her kitchen and is required to work the line or expedite as needed.

When the venue is not occupied with actively serving guests, as in between meal-times, this leader is expected to modify and create new menus & features, continuously create engaging programs for their staff, and to find ways of controlling costs within the restaurant. The Restaurant Leader will be required to use part of their time to work on developing (coaching) their team while creating a positive environment where everyone partakes in the development of new dishes and marketing content for the brand.

As this brand must maintain a diverse and strategic menu, it is vital that the Restaurant Leader believes in the development of teammates to assist them in keeping the menu fresh. In addition, the leader also performs many administrative duties, including ordering food & beverage supplies and reporting to the ownership of the Matamak brand.

Additional Duties:

- Create schedules for the back-of-house team w/ budget requirements
- Create and maintain recipe books for all current and new menu items
- Create, maintain, and report on food & supply related inventory
- Meet with vendors routinely, to ensure best pricing & quality possible
- Work with kitchen staff on creating new, innovative menu items
- Must promote a positive work environment that fosters growth and creativity
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs, incl. small-wares within budget
- Recruit and hire staff as required within the budget set-forth for department

**Salary**: From $68,000.00 per year
