**The opportunity**:
EfficiencyOne is looking for an** **Energy Manager** who will be responsible for providing energy management services for contracted services or business and other technical support as directed by EfficiencyOne and the Client Contact Lead. The Energy Manager will be responsible for identifying building optimization-related energy efficiency measures and opportunities at the client site(s) and help to prepare the business case for approval. The Energy Manager will provide technical support related to energy management as well as work with third-party engineering firms, and contractors to direct energy management activities within client buildings and facilities.
- Responsible for working closely with the Building Operation and Maintenance team to meet the objectives of the Net-Zero Roadmap.
- Responsible for contributing to energy projects and policy planning and assisting with the implementation of energy projects as well as identifying recommissioning opportunities in a portfolio of existing buildings.
- Responsible for involvement in Energy Management activities on both a technical and organizational level for the assigned client.
- Involved in Project management activities; (budget reviews, work orders, communications, meetings, etc.).
- Responsible for utilizing building automation system and energy management information system to track energy usage and identify energy savings opportunities.
- Responsible for enrolling projects on building optimization programs and developing measurement and verification plans for recommissioning projects.
- Complete technical audits, recommend energy efficiency technologies, and prepare and assist in feasibility studies and business cases for approval.
- Develop an understanding of the mechanical and electrical systems within client facilities.
- Develop an understanding of the organization’s budgetary framework and procurement policies and contracts.
- Act as project manager for energy-related capital projects, including liaison to Energy Services Consultants in association with any Energy Performance Contracts.
- Development and review of tender documents and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Perform any other duties as required from time to time.

**What Will Help You Succeed?**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and eligible to practice as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in an energy-related role with experience developing and implementing energy management programs and/or energy savings projects
- Other relevant professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement and Verification professional would be considered an asset.
- The ability to interpret electrical and mechanical plans and specifications for facilities.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required

**In the first week, expect to**:

- Meet with the Senior EM and Energy Management Services team.
- Develop a high-level plan for the first 90 days in your role as an EM; and
- Be prepared to read EM service manual, business program manuals, protocols on measurement and verification, energy auditing guidelines, example reports from Senior EMs, and examples of other organizations’ energy management plans. Ensuring you are familiar with both technical resources and reference material is critical to executing your short-term plan on-site.
