- What You’ll Be Doing
- The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. To deliver on its vision to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services, both in Canada and where our core competencies can be exported. The Capital Markets mission is to bring Canadian Capital Markets products to Canada and the rest of the world and also bring the world to Canada.

How You’ll Succeed- Research - As Research Associate the incumbent will work closely with Research Analysts covering Technology & Telecommunications sectors. The Associate will develop a depth of knowledge in financial analysis, covered industries and the capital markets. In the role, they will gain valuable experience in gathering information, researching companies and industries leveraging primary, secondary and alternative sources, and recognizing and analyzing industry trends. The associate will also be active writing reports, as well as developing and maintaining financial models.-
- Client Focus - In cooperation with the Research Analysts they will participate in regular calls with public companies to get direct data from the senior management teams, as well as ad hoc calls, meetings and industry events. The position also provides the opportunity to liaise with our Sales, Trading, Investment Banking colleagues and clients as required.Who You Are- You can demonstrate experience in Technology/Telecommunications and/or Accounting/Finance industry. Previous Capital markets experience is preferred, but not required.You're motivated by collective success. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external clients.-
- You know that details matter. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to complete and explain detailed financial and statistical analysis. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment. Demonstrated interest in the capital markets industry through school courses, clubs and/or related work experience.-
