This position is a dynamic role within a fast-paced high growth company. The merchant will work closely with the adjacent category merchants and key cross functional partners to develop and execute product assortment strategies that align with corporate objectives and strategic priorities. This role requires somebody who is product obsessed with vast understanding of market trends and trajectory and the ability to synthesize and analyze data to make informed strategic decisions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supports long-term growth strategies for their own category that supports the overall product team goals, and meets organization’s financial targets
- Partners closely with the planning department in the creation of recommended assortments
- Works closely with pricing team on pricing architecture and overall pricing strategy
- Identifies product opportunities and creates product briefs that effectively communicate needs to cross functional design and development partners. This includes gross margin management.
- Utilizes advanced in-depth knowledge of the Canada Goose consumer, competition, global market trends, and available insights to provide long-term vision and an overall framework for line plans/ strategy.
- Analyzes sales data regularly to identify regional and channel specific needs and opportunities
- Meets all key milestones and deadlines as set by the corporate calendar
- Drives projects and deliverables through the organization, working collaboratively with cross functional partners
- Keeps all assortment planning files and tools accurate and up to date including PLM.

**Experience, Education and Designations**:

- University degree
- 5-10 years in positions offering relevant merchandising experience for a similar category
- Must be able to utilize and master internal software systems - PLM
- Strategic planning and competitive analysis abilities
- Retail math training
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphases on PowerPoint, Excel and Word

- Ability to work independently, searches for information and drives proactive solutions
- Knows how to read and interpret sales data
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and levels
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and think proactively
- Ability to foresee and help resolve potential conflicts in timelines and deliverables
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation)
- Ability to be flexible and adapt even in the event of short timelines or unexpected changes to plan
- Thinks outside of the box with an entrepreneurial mindset and constantly strives to improve current way of working
- Interest in the overall business and merchandising
- Passionate about Canada Goose and the product possibilities ahead

- An understanding of design, product construction, and manufacturing process
