Die Cast Operator

Ljunghall Canada produces high pressure aluminum die cast components to support the transportation sector. Our Canadian plant is currently looking for a Die Cast Operator.

Reporting to the Value Stream Leader, the Die Cast Operator will be responsible for the continuous operation of automatic die casting machines to ensure the product meets specifications.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Daily quality control verification
- Aluminum die casting with IDRA machinery
- Putting molten aluminum under high pressure into a mold cavity
- Assist a highly skilled team of Die Setters and Process Technicians
- Assist Quality and Maintenance personnel to troubleshoot issues by providing equipment operating assistance and support repairs of any process related peripherals
- Place product into pallet for transportation within the facility
- Visually inspect products to meet quality standards
- Accurately record production transactions
- Meet daily production volumes

**Your Qualifications**
- Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks
- Previous work in a die casting, foundry or similar atmosphere
- Able to work as a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work shift work
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

**Desired Skills**
- Knowledge of 5S practices
- Knowledge of TS16949
- Basic computer skills for inputting data
- Troubleshooting machine issues
- Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting and bending
- Experience developing work instruction (WI) and standard operating procedures (SOP)
