Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

As our health, safety and environmental manager, you will manage and lead all levels of safety development and implementation from office to field. Your leadership will ensure we provide the highest safety level for our employees, trade partners, clients, and the public.
Must be organized, able to prioritize, proficient with computers, and have exceptional professionalism, integrity, and a strong dedication and commitment to safety.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide on-site coaching/mentoring
- Complete new employee orientation
- Provide and organize safety training for employees
- Support with prequalification of subcontractors
- Complete site inspections
- Collaborate with management to provide resources, tools and equipment for the implementation of safety policies and procedures
- Hold regular safety meetings on-site
- Complete pre-job hazard assessments with project management team
- Assist in completing prequalification packages for bidding purposes
- Manage all aspects of our WCB, including injury management and modified work program
- Continual monitoring of program to determine the overall effectiveness of all policies and procedures
- Lead with developing new HSE systems and continue to grow the program
- Help maintain strong, trustworthy, and lasting relationships with our existing and new clients
- Ensure that the company health and safety policies and procedures are being followed
- Monitor and prepare reporting for all statistical data, performance and goals
- Conduct investigations when required to identify the causes and corrective action
- Perform and or participate in audits to maintain compliance and ensure the program is effective
**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:
- Proficient with computers including but not limited to Google Workspace, Bamboo, Adobe, and SiteDocs software as needed.
- 3+ years experience in the underground infrastructure and earthworks industry
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a high-performance, fast-paced team environment
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to travel as required to perform site visits and audits
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test
- Driven and success-orientated
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
- Fluent written and oral English language skills required
- Post secondary education or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements

- Coordinate all relevant safety training for all employees and subcontractors.
- Host and/or present at regular safety meetings.
- Immediately act on all Safety and Environmental issues and concerns on all project sites.
