Sport Coordinator (Part Time)

Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton

Start Date: August 2023

**Salary**: $18.90/hr - $21.00/hr

What qualifications are we looking for?
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in basketball would be considered an asset
- Experience in coaching basketball, badminton, and/or soccer would be considered an asset
- Experience in leading or instructing Learn to Skate programs would be considered an asset
- 3-5 years’ experience coaching sport programs to children and youth (preferably badminton and basketball);
- Customer service experience;
- Supervisory experience considered an asset;
- Ability to manage and adjust to changing environment;
- Experience working with children and youth;
- Effectively communicate in a variety of settings; excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology;
- Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Three professional references required.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Duties and Responsibilities include:

- Be present at Sport programs to provide support to staff, volunteers, participants and parents;
- Liaise with Sport Supervisor, coordinate schedules, tournaments and evaluations;
- Assist in recruiting and training of all volunteer and staff;
- Effectively communicate in a variety of settings;
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure best delivery of customer/client experience;
- Is available to work flexible hours, including irregular and extended hours, esp. evenings and weekends;
- Administrative duties for Sport ILT, including onboarding, packages, rosters etc.;
- Attend branch and ILT special events (Healthy Kids Day, Basketball tournaments, All Sport One Day, in-services, Stampede Breakfast, volunteer appreciation etc).
