**Job Description / Qualifications**
**Job Summary**
Responsible for supporting the production team by providing expert quality control through conducting scheduled and regular dimensional checks, testing and observation. Providing guidance and support when identifying and solving quality issues. Acts as a customer liaison providing exceptional customer service and feedback when handling quality issues.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities**
- Monitors all incoming production including performing visible and regular inspections, verifying inspected work, and conforming to the requirements of the customer and criteria set by White Cap.
- Conducts process audits ensuring that all records are maintained to conform to the customer or regulatory requirements of the applicable standards.
- Participates in quality resolution for both customers and suppliers ensuring that issues are managed in a timely manner using appropriate problem solving techniques. Ensures 5Why/Root Cause Analysis reports are robust and regularly updated in all systems and preventive action implementation to avoid recurrence.
- Maintains shift reporting of quality issues.
- Maintains quality records for all inspection, measuring, testing and calibration documentation.
- Interacts with other quality professionals as well as management team members on all quality issues. Identifies and resolves issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Nature and Scope**
- Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
- Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
- May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

**Work Environment**
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

**Education and Experience**
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Vocational/Technical School with 1 to 3 years of experience.
- Certification in Quality Assurance
- Two years of related experience in quality, preferably in the automotive or welding industry.
- Experience with quality programs, measurement, and reporting.
- Experience with identifying and resolving quality-related issues.
- Accuracy and proficiency in the use of measuring and test equipment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including MS Excel.
- Positive teamwork approach and safety conscious.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and training skills.
