Reporting to the Facilities Manager or Facilities Lead Hand, the primary duties of the Facilities Worker, with primary outdoor duties and responsibilities, takes initiative and pride in maintaining the overall exterior and indoor Clubhouse facilities in an organized fashion and to the highest standards of cleanliness at all times, and ensures that health and safety practices are followed.

The Facilities Worker is generally responsible for outdoor work and working in various weather conditions. Duties include, but are not limited to; maintaining outdoor grounds such as landscaping, cleaning windows, snow removal, sweeping of leaves and debris, washing parking surface, opening doors to members, parking enforcement in a diplomatic manner, court maintenance, organizing the recycling program, receiving and distributing deliveries, etc.

Although the Facilities Worker’s primary duties are outdoors, they may from-time-to-time be required to assist with indoor work such as; laundry, cleaning hard floor surfaces and washrooms, vacuuming carpets, mopping, buffing, shampooing carpets, set-up-and-tear-down of function spaces, etc.

In addition, the incumbent, if skilled in these areas, may be required to assist with some skilled work such as; painting, hanging light fixtures and artwork, and low-level mechanical, plumbing, and woodworking projects.

**Requirements**:

- Background check.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (2 doses) and shall provide proof of such vaccination prior to the commencement of the job and as required by the Club.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the field.
- Maintenance labourer experience or understanding of various trades. Certificate in any of the trades an asset.
- Experience with painting, woodworking, and hanging artwork an asset.
- Experience working with various maintenance equipment and machinery i.e., snow blower, vacuums and buffing machines, drills, electrical sawsan asset.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- WHMIS 2015 (Global Harmonized System) an asset.
- Health and safety training i.e., _Occupational Health and Safety for Workers in Ontario_ an asset
- Joint Health and Safety experience or certification an asset.
- Laundry experience an asset.
- Organized, clean, and efficient a must.
- Able to work in a high-paced and demanding environment.
- Able to work in all sorts of weather conditions.
- Able to prioritize and deal with emergencies in an efficient, calm, and professional manner.

**Duties**:
**Communication**:

- Pass on messages to manager and next shift on any operational issues, equipment failures, repairs required, emergencies, flooding, power outages, accidents, incidents, contractors onsite, etc.
- Log in completed and uncompleted assigned tasks in the log book and use Maintenance Work Order for general repairs.

**Service Standards**:

- Ensure standards of cleanliness are met to the Club’s expectations and as trained such as; attention to detail, organization, cleaning spots, dusting, mopping, court maintenance, identifying and reporting issues and repairs required, equipment failures, etc.
- Takes initiative to ensure standards are met i.e., removes carpet stain and shampoos even if it is not assigned.
- **Court Maintenance**:

- Performs court maintenance duties such as; sweeping of tennis courts and scrubbing, mopping, and buffing of wooden badminton and squash courts as required.

**General Property Maintenance**:

- Rakes leaves, watering plants, and other grounds keeping as required.
- Performs snow removal duties.
- Receives and distributes deliveries.
- Parking enforcement.

**Custodial Duties (light and heavy cleaning duties)**:

- Vacuums and shampoos carpets regularly.
- Mops floors and stairwells regularly.
- Washes, scrubs, and sanitizes sauna, steam room, showers, shower doors, toilets, toilet stalls, and sinks in washrooms and locker rooms on a regular basis.
- Dusts furniture, sconces, and other light fixtures, blinds, tops of lockers, and shelves on a regular basis.
- Wipes down counter tops, shelves, benches, mirrors, baseboards, windows, and window ledges on a regular basis.
- Removes dirty towels from the locker room and sports and fitness areas. Assists with laundry of towels and other clothing items which includes; washing, drying, folding, and restocking on a regular basis.
- Ensures locker room and various washroom supplies are maintained on a continuous basis.
- Removes garbage from drop points on a continuous basis.
- Polishes trophies as needed.
- Washes shower curtains as needed.

- Completes painting and patching projects.
