**Overview**
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support and services related to settlement and integration. You will conduct comprehensive intake assessments, provide guidance, and connect clients with appropriate resources and services to facilitate their transition and settlement. This position requires a deep understanding of the settlement process, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds.
**Core Position Responsibilities**
**Client Intake and Assessment**
- Conduct initial intake interviews to assess clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges.
- Gather and document relevant information to create comprehensive client profiles.
- Identify and prioritize clients’ immediate and long-term needs.
**Resource Connection and Referral**:
- Provide clients with information about available services, resources, and programs.
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate internal and external services, including schooling, housing, employment, and health services.
- Assist clients in navigating and accessing community resources and support systems.
**Client Satisfaction and Retention**:
- Regularly check in with clients to ensure their needs are being met and they are satisfied with the services provided.
- Collect and analyze client feedback to identify areas for improvement in service delivery.
- Implement strategies to enhance client satisfaction and retention, including personalized follow-ups and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage ongoing engagement and support.
**Counseling and Support**:
- Offer empathetic and culturally sensitive counseling to help clients address settlement-related challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized action plans in collaboration with clients.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress and adjust plans as needed.
**Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
- Prepare reports and summaries as required by organizational policies and funders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and confidentiality agreements. Act as a liaison between all the departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination and keep up to date best practices and procedures.
**Collaboration and Teamwork**:
- Work closely with other MAGMA team members to ensure coordinated and holistic support for clients.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance client support.
**Required Qualifications**
**Education, Knowledge and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certification in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Customer Service, or a related field is preferred
- Fully bilingual in English and French (both writing and speaking). Additional languages will be an asset
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, preferably in a community services, non-profit, or settlement agency environment.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Client service focused
- Good research skills and familiar with finding accurate information
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and task oriented
- Team-Building and Cooperative Partnership**: Facilitates consensus and proactively avoids conflicts with individual and groups through effective communication and problem resolution.
- Integrity: Understands that dealing with a vulnerable population requires that they conduct themselves with honesty, transparency, and responsibility in all matters, and can provide a valid criminal record check.
