**Temporary Full-Time Position**

**Start Date: June 5, 2023**

**Hours: 35 hrs per week**

**Salary: $18.00/hr**

**Position Summary**:
Reporting directly to the Economic Development Manager and accountable to the Economic Development Administrator / Communications Support, the Tourism Services Coordinator will primarily support the implementation of the Inaugural Regional Tourism Destination Strategy and its activities. The individual will be part of the Economic Development Office support team and be part of other economic development initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Meet the eligibility criteria established by the Canada Summer Jobs Program;
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the during of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
- Experience in a customer service environment, sales and marketing, along with communications and public relations would be considered a valuable asset.
- Computer software knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, social media platforms and database management. A graphic design background considered an asset.
- Demonstrated organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of the Leeds Grenville region including municipalities and their businesses.
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient. Work within an office environment both independently (with mínimal supervision) and within a team organizational model.
- A valid and current driver’s license and use of a vehicle are required.
- Additional languages are considered an asset.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Provide exceptional visitor / client information services through various communication tools electronically and in-person.
- Respond to visitor online enquiries and develop visitor itineraries that will enhance the visitor’s stay. Provide directions and reservation assistance.
- Assist in updating and maintaining regional business directory.
- Create, support and coordinate / schedule tourism content, images and photography for multiple websites and social media.
- Provide administrative support to the Economic Development Office and the Tourism Leadership Committee.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge on the region and support new tourism product development. Research, review and analyze inventory of existing products and develop experiences, trails / routes, packages itineraries based on existing offerings.
- Support promotion and marketing plans to communicate new and current experiences using the regional tourism brand through various digital technology tools including website, social media, video, etc.
- Support a collaborative regional tourism environment with stakeholders and community partners.
- Attend meetings as part of the Leeds Grenville Economic Development team.
- Ensuring a high level of respect for confidentiality for both the organization as a whole and staff as per the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Other related assigned duties, as requested and required.
