**Position Summary**:
Nicola Wealth is looking for a dynamic and collaborative Events Specialist to join our Marketing team. If you're someone who loves to bring big visions to life, thrives when solving problems, and enjoys working as a part of an organized and creative team, this role might be for you. Based in Toronto, Ontario, this role will work closely with the Vancouver based Marketing team to support in the coordination and execution of Nicola Wealth's internally produced events across Canada.

The role of the Events Specialist is to support in the management, coordination and execution of Nicola Wealth's internally produced events across Canada. This position is responsible for designing events that reflect the firm's brand by delivering seamless, high-touch experiences for clients, prospects, and advisors alike, as well as overseeing daily administrative processes and procedures ensuring they are in line with corporately defined policies and objectives.

The Events Specialist will work closely with the Manager, Events supporting each other as the firm's corporate events team. Together, the team will design and execute events ranging in attendee size from 8 to 800, create unique and elevated event experiences, and arrange branded activation displays. Projects vary in focus from client appreciation and business development to community partnership and brand awareness.

Though reporting to the Manager, Events, this role sits within a 14-person cross functional Marketing team so there is plenty of opportunity to collaborate with other marketing functions.

Note: This role is based in Toronto (home to more than 80 employees), while the majority of the Marketing team are based in Vancouver. Given our use of technology and semi-frequent travel, we will create a rich and fulfilling environment for the Events Specialist with plenty of touch points with both the Manager, Events, the larger marketing team, the Toronto office, and the firm as a whole. This role will operate on a hybrid work schedule.

**As an Event Specialist, your key accountabilities will involve**:

- Work closely with the Events team on National client/prospect events.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the company and within the marketing team including Brand, Sponsorship, Demand Generation, and Communications team.
- Build relationships with external stakeholders and vendors.
- Arrange on-site execution and delivery of impactful industry-leading event experiences.
- Execute logistics between various parties such as vendors, venues, partners, attendees, and internal stakeholders.
- Track event budgets and ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner.
- Provide support to the Sponsorship team on National sponsorship portfolio.
- Provide administrative support pertaining to sponsorship and other event projects.
- Identify and innovate new opportunities to raise brand awareness through event experiences.
- Other duties as assigned.

**As an Event Specialist, your experience and qualifications will include**:

- 3-5 years of experience with a background in event planning.
- Education in event planning would be considered an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Positive and engaging attitude, resourceful nature, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Unwavering entrepreneurial spirit, possess a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
- Confident in communicating vision and adhering to strategy.
- Experience working with senior leaders is an asset.
- Proven ability to adapt easily to evolving priorities and schedules.
