**The opportunity**:
Reporting to the Associate Dean (Strategic Partnerships and Administration) of the Asper School of Business, the Manager,Marketing and Communications has a portfolio that is integral to the overall reputation and success of the School. The Manager isresponsible for leading the School’s Marketing Strategic planning/execution and managing the School’s image, advertising, all formal communications, aiding in student recruitment, relationships with all the School’sstakeholders and managing the promotion of events that the School organizes.

This position will also be responsible for developing, overseeing, and maintaining the budget for the unit, coordinate with those responsible for student recruitment for the Asper School’s programs and with those responsible for organizing Asper School events, and assist with any promotional material needed.

The Manager’s position will work closely with the Dean and Associate Deans of the Asper School, Dean’s Office personnel, Commerce Students Association and other Asper student groups, External Relations, The Associates, Young Associates, alumni, donors, faculty and staff of the Asper School, business school ranking organizations, and external suppliers of goods and services relevant to the unit’s portfolio.

Flexible work hours are required including early morning, evenings, and occasional weekend work to attend networking and recruitment events. The Manager’s physical presence may be required during school events. On occasion, some travel, possibly including international, may be required when attending alumni-related events or professional development events in regard to marketing.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- University degree is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in brand management, advertising, marketing communications, alumni and donor relations, event planning, public speaking, and managing clients required.
- Experience supervising and managing performance required.
- Budget development and management experience required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills required.
- Independence, diplomacy, self-motivation, confidentiality, and the ability to work with many types of individuals and organizations required.
- Must be able to liaise with internal and external constituents with a “customer service” attitude.
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with faculty, support staff, students, and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team required.
- Demonstrated ability to plan strategically required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
