Job Summary:
**Responsibilities**:

- Follow-up on bidding opportunities identified through tender sites, customers, and RFQ’s to close transactions.
- Review architectural plans, specifications, and other project documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess project scope, measure areas, and evaluate site conditions that may impact the flooring installation.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and clients to understand their needs and expectations.
- Estimate material quantities, including flooring materials, adhesives, underlayment, and other related products, based on project specifications and industry best practices.
- Research and evaluate suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and ensure the use of high-quality products within budgetary constraints.
- Produce accurately priced tenders, clearly detailed, competitive, and returned within tight deadlines.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and project proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and any additional costs related to the project.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns and negotiating pricing and terms as necessary.
- Attend site/client meetings as needed and work closely with the owner to communicate challenges and collaborate on solutions.
- Monitor project performance and assess cost effectiveness of products and services, tracing actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Track and maintain accurate records of project estimates, including updates and revisions as the project progresses.
- Collaborate with the project management team to provide support during project planning and execution, including assisting with project scheduling and resource allocation.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, product advancements, and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive bidding and accurate estimates.
- Participate in post-project reviews to analyze the accuracy of estimates, identify areas for improvement, and incorporate lessons learned into future estimates.
- Provide superior customer service; ensure client satisfaction.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Commercial Flooring Estimator or similar role within the construction or flooring industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial flooring materials, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in reading architectural plans, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Solid understanding of measurement units, calculations, and quantity takeoffs.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, project teams, and suppliers.
- Proficient in using computer-aided estimating software (MeasureSquare) and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required to meet deadlines.
- Multi-task between estimating and project management
- Solid understanding of carpet, vinyl, tile, resilient, LVT, wood and other floor covering products along with their installation requirements.
- Advanced problem-solving skills: ability to identify potential problems, prepare and present options.
- Detail oriented; strong organizational skills and results driven.

**Job Type**: Full Time / Commission based

Monday to Friday, day shift

Work Location: In person in the office / on jobs sites / travel to estimate and assess jobs.
