Prepress Drafting Specialist

**Job Opportunity**

The Prepress-Drafting Specialist position is responsible for working closely with all the design, production & project management groups who have jobs that are being set-up or scheduled to run through WestRock Etobicoke. This work will include the creation of manufacture drawings for conventional print processes - create machine routing. Review and Approve Combo Layouts from WestRock Design facilities.

Review of preliminary artwork, review and approval of customer final and production artwork for Offset and Flexo print process. Including, pre-flighting, proper filing and releasing of incoming files. This person will also provide back-up support for Etobicoke Prepress & Digital Prepress.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following**
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Process work according to the schedule based on customer requirements.
- Assist production & project management groups with necessary production, prepress and layout design.
- Set-up jobs for production according to the work order and press requirements as determined by production control the schedule.
- Produce manufacturing drawings for conventional print and digital presses and the cutting equipment.
- Pre-flight graphic files and file in appropriate location on server.
- Communicate any color, proofing, design and/or technical issues.
- Assist with file management and job processing of digital files going through the necessary RIP and imposition software.
- Complete the necessary workflow management documentation and reporting requirements.
- Produce Etobicoke Print Cards for Litho, Digital and Flexo manufacturing.
- Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**What you need to succeed**
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years experience in PrePress
- Must be able to preflight design files and prepare them for printing.
- Must have prior color management experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail
- Have a safety mindset
- Works well in a team environment
