**role accountabilities**
- Plan freight for CN/CP containers ensuring maximum cube and margin
- Execute defined solutions to meet Client expectations
- Coordinate the scheduling of rail cans and proactively communicate incoming rail cans and/or Carrier Partners to the Warehouse Team by keeping the dock log UpToDate
- Extreme ownership of track & trace for assigned conveyance; ensure tracing board is clear and updated at the end of every shift for all Class 1 Rail orders
- Grow and enhance the front-end relationship with clients in the assigned portfolio.
- Enter orders for assigned client portfolio, record shipping details and update accurately and in a timely manner
- Negotiate and coordinate scheduling for Carrier Partners in service of client orders
- Source local cartage rates and communicate cost and availability changes within specific markets which could influence the use of a different conveyance.
- Release work to the ONE warehouse & ABF team in a manner that ensures maximum levels of productivity and intermodal turnaround times
- Plan Western Canada freight flowing through the Peet Freight terminal in a manner that ensures maximum levels of productivity and intermodal turnaround times
- Capture & communicate accessorial revenue in real time and update orders with redirects, waiting time, driver-assists, lumpers, etc.
- Ensure the correct internal flow of client paperwork that crosses the ONE for Freight dock daily.
- Proactively communicate potential delays and service violations to the appropriate team member. Execute alternative recovery solution when required.
- Manage CRT to schedule delivery Appointments when required
- Manage appointments with Intermodal carriers
- Manage all invoices related to intermodal
- Hold all intermodal partners accountable to each client’s service expectations
- Develop and hold key relationships with our current Class 1 rail partners and develop new relationships with other class 1 rail partners
- Class 1 Rail afterhours as required
- Assist Brokerage coordinator and solutions coordinator when required
- Crosstrain all responsibilities to assigned back up

**education, skills & attributes required**

Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or GED Equivalent

English Literacy; French Literacy an asset

4-6+ Years’ Experience - Brokerage & Carrier Relations

4-6+ Years’ Experience - Transportation & Logistics Industry: Operational Intermodal Rail and Domestic/Cross Border Trucking

Exceptional Oral & Written Communication Skills

Detail Oriented

Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field or an industry-related professional designation an asset

Working Knowledge of North American Rail Systems & Scheduling; Container Types & Sizes; Freight Dimensions

Strong understanding of the geography of Canada & USA required

Flexible Availability - Must be able to work in an ‘on-call’ environment for short periods (i.e. occasional ‘on-call’ status, late shifts, emergency response management, department coverage, as required by the Senior Leadership Team)

Strong time management skills required

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
