Family Educator Position

If you enjoy working with children and families we are currently hiring.

We are seeking someone with a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Child and Youth or Human Ecology for this position. Ideally you will bring a combination of experience and knowledge with you which can be shared with the families you will serve.

Family and Early Childhood Anglophone East Inc is a "not for profit" organization which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are contracted by the Department of Education to complete various aspects of our work, and to deliver the EYE-DA assessments within the Anglophone East District.

This position would see you working directly with families in their homes and completing other associated responsibilities in relationship to this. You will be trained to administer assessments, interpret them and assist families in determining the direction they wish to focus on based upon the results. You will also support them with the development and implementation of strength based SMART goals which provide guidance and direction along their family's journey.

A mentor will work closely with you for the first six months of your job. In addition, each employee has a reflective supervisor they meet with every other week to assist them in developing their families individual service plan and to provide feedback and direction.

This can be a fast paced work place requiring energetic and innovative employees. Each family is unique with varying skills, needs and motivation. As a family educator you will need to be creative and flexible. Developing relationships is key to working effectively with families while also maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Our offices are open Monday through Friday, and you will work a 35 hour work week. Family educators are responsible for working primarily during the day but must be prepared to be assigned one evening visit per week.

This position is a one year term. We offer a variety of benefits to our term employees. These would include Health Leave; Vacation; Recognized Stats and Other days with pay; Paid time off between Christmas and New Year's; Free parking; a Generous Travel Reimbursement; a Health and Wellness Benefit upon successful completion of probation; ongoing paid training opportunities and excellent resources and materials to enhance service delivery. The salary will be between $55,000 and $58,000 determined by training and experience.
